Driving a motor vehicle is one of the biggest responsibilities of your life!  This course will provide the students with the capabilities necessary for entry into the highway traffic system as vehicle operators.  It will help students to develop and maintain a proper attitude about the responsibilities of defensive driving.  It will also provide the students with the knowledge and thought process that will enable the students to make wise decisions in driving situations. Completion in this course will meet the State requirement of 30 classroom hours. Students will be given a certificate upon completion. 

ONLINE COURSE CURRICULUM

• Administrative Process- HTS,GDL, PA regulations

The Driver: S.I.P.D.E, Decision making and driver communication, Risk Reduction, Distractions & Fatigue

The Environment: Defensive driving and accident avoidance Techniques, Driving in different environments, Right of Way, Speed limits, Road Markings

The Vehicle: PA laws, Safe use of Technology, Control Systems

Important Dates

Start Date: Monday, June 2, 2025

We allow students to begin their summer course work in early June so they can meet with their teacher before summer break begins (if needed).

1st CheckPoint:  Thursday, June 19, 2025 - 1/3 of coursework should be turned in by this date

2nd CheckPoint: Thursday, July 17, 2025- 2/3 of coursework should be turned in by this date

Final CheckPoint: Friday, August 8, 2025 - ALL ASSIGNMENTS DUE BY THIS DATE, NO EXCEPTIONS
