Driving a motor vehicle is one of the biggest responsibilities of your life!  This course will provide the students with the capabilities necessary for entry into the highway traffic system as vehicle operators.  It will help students to develop and maintain a proper attitude about the responsibilities of defensive driving.  It will also provide the students with the knowledge and thought process that will enable the students to make wise decisions in driving situations.

 $450      Online & Simulation Only Students will be given a sign up link to reserve their 1 hour time slots. Students will need to complete 5 hours of simulator training to be awarded a certificate. More information on contact information will be provided at the start of the course.

$900      Entire Course including 6 hours of behind the wheel training AND the Pennsylvania Driver’s Test administered. (Parent/Guardian must reach out directly to A & B Driving School)

ONLINE COURSE CURRICULUM

•Decision making and driver communication, Risk Reduction, Defensive driving and accident avoidance Techniques, Driving in different environments, PA laws, Safe use of Technology

SIMULATION CURRICULUM

•Basic motor vehicle control, Driving in different environments, Decision making (understanding S.I.P.D.E), Changes in road  or weather conditions, Application of techniques learned from online training, Following speed limits and laws

BEHIND THE WHEEL TRAINING

•Decision making skills, Exposure to a variety of road landscapes, Obeying sped limits and safe following distances, Driving in different weather conditions, Implementation of risk reduction process (S.I.P.D.E), Skills required to pass road test

Important Dates

Start Date: Monday, June 3, 2024

We allow students to begin their summer course work in early June so they can meet with their teacher before summer break begins (if needed).

1st CheckPoint:  Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 1/3 of coursework should be turned in by this date

2nd CheckPoint: Thursday, July 18, 2024- 2/3 of coursework should be turned in by this date

Final CheckPoint: Friday, August 9, 2024 - ALL ASSIGNMENTS DUE BY THIS DATE, NO EXCEPTIONS

Simulation - In Person Dates

June 3, 4, 5 ( 3-5 pm)

June 10, 11, 12 ( 3-5pm)

June 17, 18, 19 ( 8-11am)

June 24, 25, 26 ( 8-11am)

There is also some in class simulator time that is required. Below, are the dates where students can come in for simulator practice.

*There will be simulator in person times starting on 6/1/24 through 6/30/24.
